In case you missed it ...

This is lick number ten in the style of Buddy Guy. Once again, pretty much hanging around our C Major Pentatonic Scale.

So, we start off with a slide from our 7th to our 8th fret on the E string ... and I'm also lying across that B string as well, because that is the next note I'm going to play ... Third finger now comes down onto the 10th fret of the G string ... And I pull off to the 8th fret of the G string ...finishing that first little run with my third finger on the 10th fret of the D string ... those last three notes with that pull off are a triplet ...

Now, I repeat that three times ... next note I play ... I'm going to play 8 to 10 on the G ... and back to 8 on the G ... That's my third finger on the 10th fret of the D ... next note that I play is my second finger ... on the 10th fret of the A string ... those three notes there ... also a triplet.

So, so far, nice and slow ...

Now for the very last note I'm going to play ... it's a , well, it's a C note, I'm going to bend it up to the D ... full tone ... bend it back and then back up to my D note again bending all the way up, so I'm on the 10th fret here of the G string ... and I get that effect there. Full tone bend, back down to the C and then back up to a full tone bend ...

So, nice and slow, the whole thing ...

So taking a look at the right hand, I'm pretty much sweeping backwards all the way through ... it takes a little bit of practice to get the fluency on that backwards sweep, if you haven't done it before ...

So once I've completed the sweep ... I'm pretty much using alternate picking for the remaining notes ...

And that pretty much concludes lick number 10 in the style of Buddy Guy. Once again, make sure you play along with some jam tracks, and also try that lick out in various keys. Have a lot of fun. I'll see you next time.
