In case you missed it ...

This is the fourth lick in our little series of pentatonic licks. This one start on the eighth fret with our second finger, and I'll just quickly run through the shape of the pentatonic scale that we're going to be using for this lick.

Ok, so second finger on the eighth fret and we go ..
2-4
1-4
1-4
1-3
2-4
2-4

There is another option with that scale where I can ... shift and use for the last two string
1-3
1-3
but because of the nature of this particular lick, we're going to be using ...
2-4
2-4

I'm going to be playing a series of hammer-ons ... and pull-offs ...

So starting off with my first finger on the G string second [seventh!] fret, I hammer to the ninth fret on the G string also... I then drop down with my second finger onto the B string ... and hammer from 8 to 10 ... then I pull off from 10 back down to 8, still on the B string ... move back up to my G string on the ninth fret and keeping my first finger down here on the seventh fret, I pull off back onto that note ... hammer ... hammer... pull off ... pull off ... and I can just repeat that as many times as I like ...

So let's get a bit of a backing track happening and see if we can trade off on that lick.
... your turn
... now you
... now you ...

Look, I know I keep repeating myself about licks but the important thing is that you play the lick in, make it your own, experiment phrasing and mix it with other licks.

Have a lot of fun, and I'll catch you next time.
